On August 4 2020, 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate stocked in the Port of Beirut caught fire and caused the largest non-nuclear explosion in History. The result of governmental negligence and corruption, the explosion caused at least 200 deaths, 7,500 injuries, and rendered over 300,000 people homeless.
